Tulare County Public Health announced four new positive COVID-19 tests early Monday afternoon, bringing the total to 16.

All of the individuals are at home under self-isolation, officials said.
The latest cases involved people from Dinuba, Porterville, Tulare, and Visalia. Public health staff began contact investigations this morning.
“It’s important at this time that our community heed the governor’s order to shelter-at-home and ensure they’re only leaving their homes to access essential services,” said Dr. Karen Haught, the Tulare county health officer. “We are wishing all our positive cases a swift recovery.”
Ten of the 16 cases involved people who had traveled. Two resulted from person-to-person contact. And, four cases are under investigation, officials said.

123 Tulare County Residents Under Self-Quarantine
The county’s coronavirus website indicated that 123 people in Tulare County are under self-quarantine and being monitored by public health.
Public health officials in Tulare County continue to urge individuals to monitor their health closely and follow these tips:
- Avoid all non-essential gatherings
- If you are ill, stay home
- If you are a member of a vulnerable population, stay home as much as possible
- Practice social distancing
- Practice good hand and environment hygiene
- If you are a person who has traveled outside the county or country, please call 2-1-1 to find about the potential need to self-quarantine
- Call 2-1-1 if you have the symptoms of COVID-19, such as
- Fever
- Cough
- Inability to take in a deep breath
- Other lower respiratory symptoms

Tulare County residents with urgent questions about or symptoms of COVID-19 can call 2-1-1, which is the information and resource hotline.
Although COVID-19 is occurring at the Tulare County Public Health Lab, results are only available through the testing physician, officials said.
Fresno County
Officials continue to report six positive tests, five of which are travel-related.

Kern County
The most southern San Joaquin Valley county has 12 confirmed cases — 11 residents and one visitor.
Health officials said Monday that there have been 185 negative tests. Another 292 tests are pending. Twenty-two returning travelers have completed monitoring.

Kings County
There are no confirmed cases through Monday morning. The public health department has collected 67 samples and received 62 negative COVID-19 results. Eight individuals are being monitored.

Madera County
There are five confirmed cases. One person who tested positive has recovered is no longer in isolation.

Mariposa County
There are no confirmed cases in Mariposa County. Officials report 23 people tested with 12 negatives. The results of 11 people are pending.

Stanislaus County
The county reported its ninth case Monday morning following three positive tests Sunday. Health officials say they are investigating whether the latest cases are community spread or involve contact with other coronavirus patients.

US Death, Case Totals Climb
As of 11:15 a.m. Monday, the United States had 42,161 confirmed coronavirus cases and 508 deaths.
There were 372,147 cases worldwide and 16,310 people had died from COVID-19.
