Ulloa examines the upcoming primary for Denham of Turlock and Valadao of Hanford. Both men have held their seats in Congress despite being at a party registration disadvantage.
Dean Florez may have summed it up best:
“They used to hide in the bushes,” said Florez, a former Democratic state senator and assemblyman who has represented more than half of the Central Valley. Now Trump “is in the bushes with them, and he is a very noticeable guy.”
Democrats continue to be optimistic about unseating these long-standing Republicans, but they may have to change tactics to overcome unsuccessful traits of the past.
